Summary

They are each other's fiercest love, greatest danger, and only hope。

Séverin and his team members might have successfully thwarted the Fallen House, but victory came at a terrible cost -- one that still haunts all of them。 Desperate to make amends, Séverin pursues a dangerous lead to find a long lost artifact rumoured to grant its possessor the power of God。

Their hunt lures them far from Paris, and into the icy heart of Russia where crystalline ice animals stalk forgotten mansions, broken goddesses carry deadly secrets, and a string of unsolved murders makes the crew question whether an ancient myth is a myth after all。

As hidden secrets come to the light and the ghosts of the past catch up to them, the crew will discover new dimensions of themselves。 But what they find out may lead them down paths they never imagined。

A tale of love and betrayal as the crew risks their lives for one last job。

3。75/5⭐️Ok this one hurt, but the mythology woven within the plot was just as immaculate as the first book’s。 The found family relationship from book 1 is in complete tatters and I was constantly pissed off at Séverin for how he treated everyone, especially Laila。 Part 4 (last part of the book which I flew through) made up for how slow the rest of it was, but the dramatic irony at the end IS KILLING ME—I can’t believe I have to wait two months to find out how this all ends。

5 STARS FOR ZOFIA AND ENRIQUE!!! ❤️

I am… not ok。What was the ending!?!?! Amazing, but what… I cannot wait for the next one。 Somehow this was even better than the first one, the character development was amazing, especially, in my opinion, for Zofia, she was my favourite in book one and that remains true for this book, her lines are just so funny, and then heart wrenching in the next second!

⭐️4 stars⭐️ Depending on who you ask, sometimes ghost stories are all that is left of history。 History is full of ghosts, because it’s full of myth。 All of it woven together depending on who survived to do the telling。

But Why?!Oh, I'm exhausted。。。 🥴 From screaming and flailing wildly!! I hate when they just don't listen。。。 So I really enjoyed this sequel, except。。。 why Severin gotta be sooo cold?! I understood, but that doesn't mean I have to like it。 And what an ending, Seriously? Not even the slightest hint into 'The Plan'? What will I have to ruminate over until I get my hands on the next one?But seriously, much deeper look into the characters history, dreams and motives, which is always a good thing。 Espe But Why?!Oh, I'm exhausted。。。 🥴 From screaming and flailing wildly!! Plus, a look into a few new ones as well, some of which are deeply disturbing, but truly engrossing。 🤘Can't wait to see this through to the end, I have a feeling it will be beautifully frightening and complex, just like a few of these delightful characters。。。!! Until then I'll be sitting here frustrated with my mind blown。。。 🤯 。。。more

Spent the entirety of this book either getting my heart broken by almost everything Enrique said/thought or wondering what Ruslan’s deal with hair is。Last couple chapters also ruined my life!!

Some of the whimsy of the first book is absent, but my favorite characters are still awesome。 This one has much more of a cliffhanger at the end。 So now we just wait for the final chapter!

Roshani Chokshi is really playing with my heart。 It’s going to be a long, agonizing wait for the final book。

DNF :(I felt so lost when reading this book; more so than I was from the first book。 I even tried listening to the audio version instead of reading the text。 It didn’t help at all :(

Another fun installment in Roshani Chokshi's Gilded Wolves series! This one had the same diverse cast of characters as the first, but they're all dealing with loss and heavier responsibilities。 Seeing them all grow and grapple with their perceptions of themselves was really interesting and endeared them even more to me。 I still feel like Chokshi's action scenes are a little clunky。 I can't decide if she uses too much description, or not enough, but either way I have a hard time following it。 I a Another fun installment in Roshani Chokshi's Gilded Wolves series!

if you get nothing else from being my bookish friend, read this series。 it’s going in the top favorites and i haven’t even finished it。i don’t think i’ve ever read a trilogy where the second book was better than the first。 each of the character’s backstories had me in tears not to mention the ending- this surpasses six of crows for me—sorry haha。 i relate to both enrique and zofia an unhealthy amount<33 as for the actual plot, i felt like it was well-paced。 the twist i wouldn’t have seen coming if you get nothing else from being my bookish friend, read this series。 it’s going in the top favorites and i haven’t even finished it。i don’t think i’ve ever read a trilogy where the second book was better than the first。 each of the character’s backstories had me in tears not to mention the ending- this surpasses six of crows for me—sorry haha。 i relate to both enrique and zofia an unhealthy amount<33 as for the actual plot, i felt like it was well-paced。 the twist i wouldn’t have seen coming if it was hurtling towards me like a cannonball but then maybe i’m just dumb。 the motives behind everything were flawless, the relationships and tension screaming at me the entire time in the absolute best way possible。 i also love how easy it is to follow along with the characters as they puzzle out mysteries。séverin’s character arc has hurt SO BADLY but it is written so masterfully that i didn’t question any of it for a second。 laila was what kept me turning the pages。 hypnos dug a huge hole into my heart。 and enrique and zofia gave me a haven where i saw my inner thoughts reflected to me。 this family is one that i will never let go of, and if my library doesn’t stock the bronzed beasts immediately they should fear🥰 ⬆️i just don’t want to buy the hardcover lol 。。。more

3。5*Ahhh okay。 So。 Firstly, I more or less predicted every single plot twist in this book, sooooo that’s that。 But there are plenty。 Second, while I found the puzzles and planning and history charming in the first book, I found it… somewhat tedious in this book。 The history lessons were at times interesting, but mostly, I just lost my patience for it。 But this is totally personal preference, as I’m sure it is for someone。 What I also loved in the first book was the camaraderie, in fact what made 3。5*Ahhh okay。 So。 Firstly, I more or less predicted every single plot twist in this book, sooooo that’s that。 But there are plenty。 Second, while I found the puzzles and planning and history charming in the first book, I found it… somewhat tedious in this book。 The history lessons were at times interesting, but mostly, I just lost my patience for it。 But this is totally personal preference, as I’m sure it is for someone。 What I also loved in the first book was the camaraderie, in fact what made me give the first book a high rating was the camaraderie, and that was missing from this book。 I understand that that was just a part of all of the character arcs, but it just left something to be desired。 Oh, and Laila’s plot twist just made her seem like such an unimportant character。 What’s her story if not relevant to anything at all? And some of the things in the book are just so sudden, it makes no sense。 Like for example, suddenly Hypnos plays piano? What happened to Helena? Eventually, I really lost interest in the characters。 Anyway, the book is great and all and it is definitely for somebody, but right now, for me, it’s just simply meh。 Oh, and the plot was definitely a bit messy。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 So so so INCREDIBLE! The ending was wild! I have no idea how Severin is going to get out of that situation… I also now love Tante Feefee。 I am so sad to see that she sacrificed herself but since we hadn’t seen her do it yet maybe there’s a chance she could survive? Anyway, I am now going to be eagerly waiting for The Bronzed Beasts!
